The Block Chain is a chandelier composed of literal blocks chained together and housing a WiFi antenna & micro computer running a full node of the Ethereum network.
It is a result of the artist's fascination for the analog-over-digital - the tangible over the imaginary - while at the same time his own desire to understand the workings of cryptocurrency.
Versions may be commissioned for Bitcoin, Doge, or other cryptos of your choosing. The rise in interest in non-fungible tokens on the Ethereum blockchain amongst participants in the art world inspired the choice of Ethereum for the first edition.
